Finally home!

Well I got home yesterday (Tuesday the 9th) at about 4:00 pm, I think. Anyway I have 5 tapes full of video and lots of pictures. I am currently working on them. I will try to post the pictures soon, but it takes a long time. Well on to what happened over the few days I didn't post. So last Saturday we went to Prince of Wales island. We took a 3 hour ferry ride, in which we saw dolphins or something like that swimming by the boat. We got there haveing no idea what was going to happen, just that we were supposedly staying at a church. We ended up meeting the person taking us to the church and drove their. It was cool! The church was very small and they were building a bunch of cabins and a bathhouse and a new worship hall. Basically we learned they plan on turning it into a christian camp. We ended up staying in a cabin with 2 other guys, a 13 year old and his 15 year old brother from Oregon, along with their counsler guy named Troy. They were all very cool. We ended up going sightseeing that day it was cool. We went to this creek thing with some waterfalls and went part way up it. There was a ton of dead fish (about 20) that we say everywhere! We asked why they were they and it was aparently because they spawned there and then died! It smelled way bad though! So then we looked in the water and their was about 5 or so fish all trying to get up the waterfall by jumping up and over each other! It was crazy! We also found a salamander thing which was cool. So we went some other places and their was waterfalls everywhere along the road. You couldn't drive 2 mintutes without seeing one! We saw the docks and the school, hah. .. tiny tiny tiny, and the library and more nature. It was so cool! We had worship with them that night and basically sang most of the songs without the instraments cause no one was very good at playing, it was actually very cool! So we then spent the night, the next day we ran the service and we did some testimonies and sang songs and grant did his lesson. It all went really well! The people were so nice. I also found out that they want people for next year to come help out as junior counslers at camp. They want 15-16 year olds. I SO want to go. I am already praying about it! So then Monday, we went site seeing around Ketchikan. We went to the other side of the island. All the way from one end of the road to the other. We ended up going up this trail next to this huge waterfall. Actually it was only the original 5 kids, me, Jonathan, Jeffery, Lauren and Grant. We went way up apparently for 1 hour (though it felt like 30min) It was probably one of the funest things we did. Jonathan and Jeffery eventually went back down and waited for us part way, because they were worried that the others would worry. 2 min later as I figured we hit the top. Or as far as you can go without wading across the waterfall creek thing. So we went back down, and apparently we were in trouble, but nothing major happend. Though we did learn that you are never supposed to go on that trail without a dog because of the bears and the dogs scare them away. They were told that along with that it was basically to hot for the bears to come out from a tour guide from the cruise ships. That seemed pretty cool to us. SO then we went to dinner and then youth group. THe youth group was very quite but polite to us. After that we played basketball and one kid named Paul played with us, he was really cool. Good at basketball also. The next day we left. Oh but first that night, Monday night, Me and Jeffery and Grant and Jonathan all decided to stay up all night. Well we stayed up till 6:00 am. Haha! Then we got about an hour of sleep till we woke up, ate breakfast and left on the plane. Everyone in Alaska was awesome. I will miss them all. Thank you all for supporting me and the rest of the Breakout troup through prayer and money. I hope I can do something like it again. Look back here for pictures later!

More stories from Ketchikan

Well we have once again done a lot here. Wednesday we went on a hike called perseverance hike. Or something like that. It was fun but 3/4 ofthe hike was a boardwalk with steps going up and down so you had to focus on were you were walking not on the nature itself, but in the end it was fun we saw a huge lake and waterfalls and huckleberries all along the trail, it was very cool. Then on the way back I tried to count every step. It was a 3 mile hike back and there was 1208 or somewhere around there steps on the boardwalk. That was steps up and down so it was crazy. Then that night once again we ran the VBS which went good, well that is except at the begging when Jeffery was freaking out because the CD drive on Chris's laptop wasn't working... Or was that Wednesday night? Man am I glad that he brought this laptop. So anyway I had to quickly use one of the churches other computers to transfer the files I needed from the CD onto my flash drive then onto the computer, and once again I saved the day. Then Thursday we had cruise ship ministries then VBS and for once, no problem! So that was cool. Now today, I am here at the church and the rest of the Breakout group went down to the dock. I am at the church making a powerpoint for the final VBS tonight. The parents are supposed to come and watch their kids and we decided to have me do a powerpoint and show it when Randy is talking. So here I am doing it. OH yeah! Yesterday at VBS I did my lesson which went AWESOME!!! I thought I did really well and got the point across to the kids. I will have to view the tape later! Well got to go get back to the powerpoint, my camera is almost done importing. See you all later and be praying for us. We are going to Prince of Wales island tomorrow! Oh and swimming later today. . . maybe. OK pray for us, and the kids, and the parents coming to watch their kids. Bye!

Well, I have or am finally getting around to Webloging on this weblog. It has been so busy and fun up here. Well to start with I'll go from today. So today we woke up this morning and then ate and got ready then went down to the cruise ship docks in the "van". I say "van" not van because it can't really be called a van its more of a thing. Well anyway we went down to the cruise ship docks and stayed there till 1:30pm. We had some flier/directions to Seamans Mission which is a place that they offer internet access, phones and reading material for the crew of the cruise ships. SO we would ask crew members where they were from and what ship they were on and there name and then we would ask them if they needed free internet access or needed to call home, we then gave them a flier and pointed them in the direction. It was pretty cool. We met people from Poland, The Philippines and India plus many other places I don't remember. Then we went back to the church after a brief stop at SafeWay for groceries. While there Randy went inside to shop and the rest of us sat by the ocean and watched the cruise ships other boats and seaplanes. Then when watching one seaplane land we saw a huge explosion on the other side of the island. It was very strange. We think it was them doing roadwork. Anyway we went back to the church and ate then got ready for the main event, Vacation Bible School. It went great. Jonathan gave his lesson on Cain and Abel which went awesome. 11 kids accepted Christ, with a few exceptions of kids doing it more than once. Like the one kid I led to Christ that said afterwards, "this is my fourth time doing this" but the other kid seemed sincere. Chris Carson our worship leader, that is not related to me did awesome!! The kids loved him. It was great then filming and taking pictures of all the kids in the rooms. Jeffrey was very funny to watch while helping with the games. He was so hyper and the kids seemed to love him. . and I thought that the kids were gonna be hyper or at least that's what I prayed for in the prayer meeting before words. Haha. Watching the preschoolers was very funny one whenever Shelmarie asked them questions about people the answer was almost always "JESUS" such as when she asked what Adam and Eves first baby was, and then when she asked about the first 2 people on earth there answer? "JESUS". Haha. Everybody did awesome. Grant and his dad singing. Jonathan and Annette in crafts. Andy, Shelmarie, Chris, Annette, Grant, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Lauren, Randy and Maxine. Wow it was fun. . . .tired of reading yet? I'm hardly even started, but I think I will post this then post another one so that this is saved.

So onto the next post. This church is amazing! So Friday. . . we worked. . and worked and worked. . etc. Um we set up posters and practiced lessons, testimonies and songs. Then Saturday. Oh yeah we woke up. . . imagine that, and took the "van" to a park right next to the ocean. There was an pretty big waterfall and we even saw a fish trying to get up it. We then saw the seals and the wild chicken I mentioned in my last post. So after that we went to a prayer meeting at the church. It was SO AMAZING!!! We prayed for 45 to 50 minutes. It was so so so so cool. I have never prayed that long before. We took turns praying just randomly and there was about 20 to 30 people here. It was so cool. We prayed about everything from the Vacation Bible school to the cruise ship ministry to other people on missions. It was crazy awesome. After that on saturday we just relaxed I pulled out the book Thr3e by Ted Dekker, and Jeffery and Jonathan asked me to start reading it to them because I had told them about iut before and they thought it was cool. So we have been reading that for the past few days. Then Sunday. . . We went to church service in the morning which Chris helped on the worship team for. The music wasnt my favorite but yah know. haha. Hyms. Then after service we went to someones house for lunch. It was fun we talked about anything and eveything there and remebered all sorts of things about the 4 years of Breakout. That night we went to the evening service which was cool because we basically ran the whole thing. They started with some hyms. . once again v.v.v.e.e.e.r.r.r.r.y.y.y.y. s.s.s.s.l.l.l.l.o.o.o.w.w.w. But then Chris did his music and got everybody singing and doing the motions to the music. Grant did his lesson on friendship which was very cool. Everybody loved it. Me, Jonathan and Randy did our testimonies which also went very well. So.. . i think brings us up to today. . . I am sure I missed lots and lots of stuff but thats all for now. . .

P.S. I also forgot about the night hide and go seek in the dark in the upstairs of the church. . fun!!

P.S.S. Miss you all!!
